2023 Domaine Amiot-Servelle Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes

The 2023 Domaine Amiot-Servelle Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes is one of the top 1ers of the vintage and is a textbook, finely perfumed Chambolle from a small certified organic domaine founded in 2008. Like many of our favorite producers, the style here focuses on site transparency, and Les Charmes here is the family’s reference parcel sourced from about 1.27 ha on stony clay-limestone mid-slope soils yielding red-cherry purity, violet lift, and a chalk-lined finish with real finesse. Winemaking typically includes a measured share of whole clusters (often around a third, depending on the vintage) and a restrained élevage in French oak to keep the site front and center. 2023 is a charming year for the red, and with good balance, making the wine immediately inviting yet structured to improve over the next decade. It's an incredible buy for one of the favorite premier crus of Chambolle and received the same rating from Neal Martin as Barthod's Charmes at much less! Don't miss it at this fantastic price!

Vinous (Neal Martin) 93-95 pts! The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru is a little more opulent than the Les Fuesselottes. Touches of violet join the red fruit, perhaps duping you into thinking there are stems in the blend when there are none. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins matched with a perfect line of acidity. It is very focused and impressively long. This is not a powerful Chambolle, but it lingers long in the mouth. Very promising. (Drink between 2028 - 2048)
